A Wedding, A Funeral & A Birthday
So appropriately worded, don't you think so??
A Wedding on Wednesday
Went to a wedding service on Wednesday morning....Whenever I look at a newly wedded couple, so happily smiling to guests, holding hands, taking pictures, lifting of veils, kiss the bride blah blah blah, I always thought "Gosh! They don't know what they are getting themselves into!!" No, I'm not against marriage, just that they looked so innocent in the sense that marriage for them (at that moment, that is) is nothing but heavens, where they get to be served breakfast in bed everyday, husband so loving and wife so gentle.....sigh....in the sermon that morning, the priest said not to bring your anger to bed every night, ensure reconcilition before the sunset.....sound so scientology!! LOL
From the wedding service, I rushed to my Director's house to pay our last respect to his late wife....and I spent the remaining days blur blur with a little bit of my cough and headache coming back
A Funeral on Thursday
Yupe, it's back! The flu, I mean.....hahahah
Office was closed as a mark of respect and off we went to the funeral service in the morning and thereafter to the cemetery....My first time at Nirvana Memorial...So nice, so serene, so expensive
Then, off to Bau for a late lunch. By then, my whole body was sticky and pespiration seemed to be flowing down like a faulty pipe....I must have stinked too!!
Went home at around 3pm and off to the shower I went.
A Birthday dinner on Thursday
Birthday dinner for Ad.....Initial plan was Elephant (cos it's cheap and we can eat to our hearts' content despite the strong protest from a certain royalty who insisted of going to Suan Chicken Rice)
Lo and behold, Elephant was closed for private function!!! So, off we went to Room 205....hehehehe
Food not bad though I find my chicken chop a little way to small a portion...Waitress very polite and i swear (despite the strong protest from the group) she looked so much like the murdered mongolian model!!! That's not the only eerie part cos we all swear we heard they serves Fried fisherman!!! A friend ordered fisherman's pride and instead of his pride, he was fried and served!! Spooky!
His royal highness ordered a very very very very long chicken frankfurter and it was nicely bent to create a horseshoe shape...I was a little too late in taking a photo cos His royal highness just cut it into half the moment it reached his plate.... Sure look like shit and I bet you can do such a good one if you take mellilea healthfood!!!
Ok, the night finishes at about 10pm and off to bed I went the moment I reached home.
I'm sick again and I'm flying next tuesday!!!

I am sick

I am sick today....but despite that, I still need to wake up so very early in the moening, bathe and came down to work. My head is so heavy (despite the fact that I have a big head) and my whole body aches ...I know, I know, I sounded like a 80-year old person but I'm really feeling very miserable. It all started with a mild cough for the past 3 days and yesterday morning, I experienced a bit of throat discomfort. Went for a wedding reception(to elaborate in the next para) last night and the sore throat got worst after the 3rd course which is my favourite buttered prawns....Both my ears are so painful whenever I swallow or talk......
Never in my life I went to bed at 10.30pm and without aircond. I hope I'm going to feel better tomorrow cos I need to finish my cards order.
Attended N & C's wedding reception last nite at Holiday Inn. I find the processional very unique. There was this chinese orchestral band playing the processional music (Chinese song obviously, Teresa Teng's song "the moon represents my heart") and a man was singing. The guests were looking high and low for the singer and to our surprise, it was actually the groom dueting with the bride as they walked in! So romantic...
Ok, that's it for now....I can't think straight.

All in a day's leave
It was my chey chey's birthday yesterday and since I have not been spending time with her (and I have at least 30 days of leave due), I left my office and works unattended to go on a spree with her.
I have not been eating that much since puberty.
8.30am
red egg (only for birthdays) and coffee at mum's
9.30am
Off we went to chey chey's favourite coffeeshop at Carpenter Street (Sorry, guys, I only realised that I did not take any photos until later in the afternoon) where we had "cheng" (soup with all sorts of pig's organs, mince pork, seaweed, fishcake, salted vegetables, fishballs and lots more) to go with a bowl of kolo mee kosong (just kolo mee without the char siew)
The shop was graded D (the worst of the worst) by the Council but yet, it is always fill to the brim with people. There's no way you can finish your food and chat cos the next minute, there will be people standing next to your table, watching you like a hawk as if telling you to take your ass off the shaky stool.
10.00am
To a shopping complex to do a bit of shopping.....I managed to buy myself a black dress...(I need something formal now that I have to go out and market my mall). While there, I went to a music shop to propose our mall to them
While there, we shop a bit at the supermarket for our BBQ tonite.....followed by a drink.
12.30pm
After fetching my nephew from school, went to a coffeeshop and had kolo mee sua (the fine foochow noodle)...By then, I was so fill-up I couldn't even talk.....Thank goodness for the coke with salt, it actually ease me a bit!
1.00pm
Went back to mum's while waiting for my nephew to change.
2.00pm
Off to Digi to have my call plan changed. Cool sales guy
3.00pm
Send my car to Toyota for it's long-overdue servicing (actually, just over 4 months lah...) Then off we went to a nearby park and had ABC and belachan beehoon (From this point, I managed to snap some pictures)
Also, there is hardly seats in that shop and while chey chey and I were about to finish, a heavily tired-looking pregnant lady was standing next to our table and she was obviously queuing for our table....Being a very civic-minded citizen and despite the unapproving look of my chey chey, I asked her to pull a chair and sit down with us....I noticed something that spoilt my appetite (tho I did not tell my chey chey)....She was like thanking me and of course, when I talk, I look people at the eye (and once a while, my eyes diverted somewhere else and guess what I saw? I noticed how bushy her armpit was and I actually stop eating and asked chey chey to go......LOL....

Went to a tuck shop nearby and saw all these thought-already-extinct food/toy
The egg-look-a-like candy
Balloons
We ended our day with chey chey dropping me at Toyota to get my car...
Oh, check out this card that I made for my chey chey
Sorry lah, can't reveal the faces but I assured you behind the darkened spots are 2 beautiful and cute little girls...All I can say the girl with the bigger head was me...hehehe

Busy Bee
Hi guys! I'm back, finally.......phew.....I'm not really free from all the hustle and bustle of my work but at least I can find some time to blog and blog-skipping....
We have just finished with the sales launch of an upcoming mall and I shall be very busy between now and 2008...We were so busy with the decorations, the set-up, the freebies and lastly, the talking on that day! Food was great though I don't really get to savour them until the whole function is over. All's well ends well... Oh one thing, I have had enough green and orange for the year!
Last but not least, check out this nail painting job that Malau did for me last nite. Nice eh?

Things I never get to do during my childhood years
I'm gonna be a very busy bee from today until end of next week, so u might have to stick with this post for the next 2 weeks or so......I was running out of idea on what to write but for the sake of your and my sanity, I decided to crack open my head, pull out the writer trapped in head and force it to think of something and write. Don't want to bore you guys with the boring printer's dilemma, do I? (Anyway, on that, I'm yet to resolve the issue...shall let it rest for the time being)
What are the things that you used to do or like to do when you were young? (Young as in like in yr pre-teens, before the boys had the croaky voice and the girls the once-a-month dilemma and a good excuse to participate in the PE class) Sidetrack: I wonder why that was a frequently-used-excuse in order to escape the sweaty running around the field activity.
Anyway, the very few things that I never get to enjoy or learn or experience during my days as little girl who loved to wear just the blue pinafore (take out the white shirt) on Fridays:
1) Rope Skipping - I can never get the hang of it. I used to fancy my classmates who can perform a non stop skipping while talking with you.....
2) Rope jumping or Zero Point (is that what it was called??) - I'm only good up to, like 1 ft above the ground??? Some of my friends can actually jump accross a rope as high as their classmates......and then u get to like twist and turn with the rope??? I sure pelanting doing that....Also, there was no shame shame business then....imagine wearing the knee length dark blue pinafore doing the jumping?? Ngai tee......can see all the sloggis, sorella or even some cartoon patterned undies.....(Oh, some even wear the gross nylon type box shorts with 2 white lines at the side)
3) Riding a bicycle - No, I don't know how to ride a bicycle. Not before, not now, not forever.....I'm terrified of falling down.
4) School Prefect - I've always envied the school prefects and has always been my dream to be one..... As a matter of fact, I was made one in primary 4 but only for a month....Nope, I was not stripped of mydatukship, prefectship because of misconduct but more of school transfer....Pop was transferred to another department which is further than my old school and sis and I were forced to be transferred to....Sad..I remembered crying for few days....
5) Play with neighbours/cousins - We moved out to the city when we were very young and we don't get up close and personal with cousins or aunties or uncles until very very much later....We played among the siblings (there were 3 of us then). The happies moment was when I've learnt that my childhood friend (whose parents are somehow related to my aunty) decided to move and stay next door to us.....
6) No birthday parties - Would you believe it if I told you that I have never been to a friend/classmate's birthday party during my primary school years???? Either it was not a norm then or my friends' parents were just too stingy to hold one....
7) In addition to Item 6. I have never celebrate birthday too....Come birthday, mom will bake a small cake with the real icing sugar icing and some red eggs....and that's about all.....oh yes, pressie of course but a very simple ones, like pen, notebooks or shirts..
8) Board an aeroplane - The furthest destination was Sibu and that was normally by land. I remembered vividly the first time I was on plane was when we all had to fly back to Sibu when my aunty died in an accident.
What's yours?
