BATA

A very old brand and the moment we talk BATA, we think of shool shoes, pallas or bubblegummers...During my school days, it was a sheer pleasure to be able to wear pallas shoes to school, otherwise it will be just the convetional made in china high-ankle shoes.

Anyway, I have lost touch with BATA eversince I left school and ocassional visit to the outlet just to buy A's slippers.

Few weeks ago, I went into a BATA outlet just to kill time and I was suprised to see all the very nice and cheap sandals. I fell in love straight away with 2 pairs. I like the strappy white sandals the most. Took me few weeks and 5 outlets to finally got this pair in my size. And the good news is, these 2 pairs only cost me RM60. (RM29.99 per pair)

The white sandals is so comfy and good for walking long hourse...DEfinitely gonna wear it in my upcoming trip. yay!

Ramblings

Going to do (as usual) a very very jumbled up ramblings just to tell readers that this blog is still alive though on autopilot mode. :-)
2 excuses for the absence - 1) Too busy with the new mall; 2) With the running around 2 offices, I constantly leaves my usb cable in the other office meaning I can't transfer photos from my handphone to lappie, thus no photo to blog (What happened to my bluetooth I heard?? I lost my bluetooth connection when Dell replaced my harddisk and I only managed to troubleshoot it now (and obviously, I have got the bluetooth back! Hurray for Dell)

See what I have received from friends (I am so loved....awww)

Andrew (my old and faithful and one and only e-pal) just back (to Minnessota) from his fishing trip in Canada and brought me all these:

I like this photo the best. The first pix out of the many photos in the booklet that caught my attention

Another gift from another friend - A free voucher for a massage (after weeks of running around and sleepless nights on organising the opening of the mall)

See, am I loved or not???

Ok, back to the paperbag on top. It's a new gift shop at Green Heights Mall and it's definitely a-must-visit shop. They sells all sorts of cute imported gifts ranges from tissue box with tissue coming out from the pig's nostril to cute coasters in the shape of doughnuts, and of course, the range from Mr P (google if you don't know which one is this. This is one toy where you are allowed to hold the little birdie in public without been booked for assault)hahaha

That's it for my boring post. I shall end this blog with a double vision thingy. I came down to the basement of my office tower to noticed 2 similar cars parking side by side. I tell you, I was stunt for a while trying to recognise my own car! hahahha

Handphones Dilemma

I don't know why it takes me so long to make decision in buying handphones.

My old Nokia 6670, though still faithful and going strong, is, I'm afraid, too slow for my pace nowadays. Have been toying the idea of changing phones since end of last year and as usual, my choice is always Nokia. My choice then was either Nokia N81 or N73. Then after I have made up my mind in getting N73, I was told there is no maroon colour body for an original set. Thus, the delay in buying.

However, of late, I noticed that checking and retrieving of emails have became very crucial for my line of duty and thus, been introduced to Mr blueberry blackberry. Also, at the same time, I noticed that my ever faithful Digi hidup is not been very kind to my pocket. So, cost cutting exercise comes in..Can't let my loyalty overrule my pocket mah. Thus, with the new purchase of handphone, I will switch telco (to which telco, it's for me to find out)

Now, I need help from all blackberry users out there who are reading my blog. Give me one reason why I should buy/not buy. Honestly, I have been asking 4 people on Blackberry and I must say all the feedbacks are good.

So, people, please help Papercrazy!!!

Things that can go wrong

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I am so frustrated now I could just open up the window of my office on the 7th floor and jump down together with my Dell Laptop.

When things are so crucial and we have only less than 4 days to the opening of the Mall, my laptop suddenly died on me and a message stating non-detection of hard disk drive kept on appearing everytime I reboot my pc. Called Dell Technical Support for assistance just to have them confirming my worst nightmare, the hard disk corrupted!

And to make matter worst, I dun even back up a single Farking files in my laptop despite having an external hard disk and now I am as good as DEAD

I cudn't afford to waste even one single minute and this has to happened!!! Wonder what's next for the Devil???

Despite the ever friendly customer service agent at Dell, they are not able to replace the hard disk for me until Wednesday. Huh? Thought I heard someone saying it's an excuse for me to relax while waiting for them to replace?? Honestly, I COULDN'T AFFORD TO RELAX!!!

I need to get all my paper works ready by Wednesday and there are several crucial files in my laptop that needs my attention. I seriously pray that the files in the hard disk can be recovered, otherwise, I might as well pack my bags, write a farewell notes and jump into the Sarawak River

Let's cycle instead of drive

Ok people...guess the government is really telling us one thing "Stay at home more often, don't drive out unneccesarily" or better still "Don't try to show off by driving cars around town". Read the latest Star

Really don't know how to survive anymore...Monthly salary is not even enough to cover for petrol, car and soon the increase in utility. Sigh....might as well stay at home...since it will cost me less, no need to pump petrol, no need to pay for car and as for the utility lei, just buy kerosene lamp lor...but next problem arised - kerosene price also naik...double sigh

One consolation nia from the announcement - we are getting an annual cash rebate of RM652 for vehicle less than 2,000cc (At this point, I am so glad I don't own any big car). After calculate calculate, with the rebate included, the increase does not sound that scary anymore. Just that we have to forked out cash advance in pumping petrol before we are able to get the rebate. (FYI, rebate will only be forwarded to you once you renew your annual road tax)

This system reminds me of the Income Tax. You are asked to pay first, then get refund later. And Yes, same rule apply for the petrol - U PAY NOW, REBATE WILL COME BUT DON'T KNOW WHEN.

SIGHHHHHHHHH....

The Type of Man I hate the most

Hey people....sorry for the long absence...Have been very very busy and happily married doing my work. My new baby will be opened in less than 3 weeks and everyone is busy with the launching and preparation.

Have not been having any idea on what to blog until yesterday. Let me share with you the few things I hate about men (Arrangements not in order of annoyance):

Always think he is handsome when a horse looks much much better than him.

Has the worst Body Odour one can ever get and still never realise/couldn't be bothered about it.

Think he is the busiest man in the universe and complained that bosses gives him too much works. Claimed that he has been victimised in that sense.....

and yet he can still pack and go home exactly at 5pm and working extra hours is a waste of time but talking and gossip on the phone and msn with friends despite his heavy worload is a neccessity

Always say he has so much things to do but his computer screen shows he's always on facebook or somebody's blogs (and I hope my blog is one of them)

Always claimed he is holy and will quote bible whenever he is been confronted or even when he is not involved. His msn tagline will always be a bible quote about how one should treat him or how God will want him to do

And would you believe it or not, all the above characteristics came from one, I repeat, JUST ONE MAN. Pathetic or not???

Last but not least, my advice to him - Go and continue living your pathetic and miserable live cos this is who you are!!!

GOOD BYE LOSER!

BAD DAY - 30 APRIL 2008

Today, 30 April 2008 - I am going to remember it for a long time....not because it is the last day of tax returns *selalu diingatkan, e-filing memudahkan kerja*..eh...sorry, somebody's fault I am having this stupid song playing in my mind all the time..

Anyway, you tell me how such a bright and sunny *i can see clearly now....* (ARGH....why am i keep on hearing music in my head) day like today can have a bad start for me???

Woke up at the correct side of the bed this morning (a good start), showered, went down for a cup of milo, reminded myself to go down to work earlier cos car is running low on petrol......start the car, put on R, turn on the radio and pull the seat belt...pull once, pull twice, noticed that the seat belt is stucked. After few failed attempts, decided to drive FAST to Toyota for checking...

So, drove the car without any seat belt on (which is not very me) and at the same time looking around for any sign of mr policeman...so far so good....reached the highway and SHID!!! the jam was so long and unusual I was stucked there for at least an hour. Prayed so hard that the jam is not caused by accident or what, cos, if there is an accident, there definitely be a police, and if there is a police, he will definitely noticed that I don't have my seat belt on!

And as if the current situation is not bad enough, I suddenly realised that my car is running very very very low on petrol and I am still stucked in the middle of the highway with no way of doing detour....Again, I prayed real hard. I think God must be so frustrated to receive so many prayers intention from the same person early in the morning.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, things started to ease after half an hour....the jam, my car is still running and the best part, no policeman in sight.

Things got much more smoother after that. Pumped petrol (a very polite pump attendant even helped me to look at the stucked seatbelt but to no avail)...Drove down to Toyota and the technician attended to my request straightaway and to make things more pleasant, he managed to repair it for me without having to change the whole thing and FOC...FIRST TIME IN TOYOTA, SERVICE IS FOC!!! Woot

And everyone lives happily ever after...THE END

p/s Don't forget to submit your tax returns if you haven't done so...today is D-DAY..Dang! I have to pay additional RM450!

Rojak post

Gotta blog something before blogspot decides to close down my blog.

Anyway...since I have not been blogging for almost a month, i am going to do a very very random All-in-one post. One caution though - gonna put lots of photos, so it might hold up the downloading of page.

Check our what D gave me for my birthday. She gave me a year's membership card with Holiday Inn/Inter Continental Hotels which entitles me to discounts for meals and rooms. She is a member herself and guess got tired of me ranting about how I wish I could afford the membership and once a while would ask her to borrow me the card every once in a while. Thanks D for this wonderful gift and I will definitely make sure that your money is well spent.

Blessed Easter

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

Yupe, we have finished observing the holy week (which ended on the evening of my birthday) an today, we are rejoicing the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Every Easter I am reminded of what we used to do when we were very young...Come easter morning, my dad will wake up extraordinarily early just to boil some eggs, have them painted and hide them around the house (plus some chocolates and candies too) for us to search when we wake up...

4 of us (brother bear and chey chey and mei mei and me) would search frantically for the goodies and I've always ended up having the least and then my chey chey would give me some just to make up the numbers. We had this annual ritual until we are grown up and it slowly stops...Mei Mei had the shortest ritual of all cos she was born much later...Those were the days...

Facebook easter eggs hunt reminds me so much of this..

Like the novel "Do you remember the first time?" by Jenny Colgan, how I wish i was 10 years old again....

btw, a few days after easter, my dad had hard time looking for the unfound goodies himself (to clean up the mess, that is..lol)

21 March

I die die must post something before 21st March is over....I still have approximately half an hour, so I have to write pretty fast..

Today, 35 years ago, i was brought into the world.....never a cute baby, I am sure (botak and wat not!!!) but i grew up knowing that I have so many friends and family members who cares and loves me so much...Birthday wishes in the form of smses, phone calls, emails kept coming in since 12 midnight last nite and still counting (just received a sms from my dearest friend about the outstanding birthday gift that she is yet to send me....lol)
Also, a certain lokter, despite her whole bodyache (from massage) can still call me....
Despite the merriest of all merry messages that I have received, I will always think of one person who still remains dear to us...We share the same birthday and every year without fail we will celebrate it together until 4 years ago....My fervent birthday prayer remains - that he will be in the best of health and hoping that one day, ONE DAY, he will turn up in our lives again and say "Hey, I am back!" and we can start using our trademark word HOH!
Aflen, if you are reading this (which I think u will) - Happy Birthday and we wish you all the best wherever you are!
Today is also Good Friday...and a public holiday that is....Can't celebrate my birthday though...:-(. Anyways, there is always a tomorrow....
Ok, gotta post now before the clock strike 12.....
p/s just received the last birthday wish from panglima, 11.46pm...

All in One Post

This is what you have to do when you have been absent for aeons. Sorry people. So caught up with office work I don't even have time to sell my Valentine's day cards...Too late to apologise now..

Manhattan Fish Market has finally made it's presence in Kuching. Not only 1 outlet but 2, ie Spring and Boulevard. I will not be making justice to myself and MFM if I did not go and try...Went last Thursday and ordered the usual - Seafood Platter c/w the fire thingy...Taste heaven except that the prawns were burnt. I think the staff was just too excited about playing with the fire that he overdid it. We also ordered it's half priced promo dish mussels in creamy sauce...That was really yummy....

See the burnt prawn heads??? lol..

'Waiter, waiter, the mussels on the advert doesn't look like what was served but we luvvvvvvvvvvv it"

And also, the staff there are so extremely friendly and accomodating...We asked for a change on the fries and they immediately suggested garden salad which is much better...even the kitchen staff was helpful...I was trying to wave at the cashier for bill but apparantely i was too invinsible until a kitchen staff (who must have seen my desperately wanting to pay face from the glass window of the kitchen) called out the cashier to attend to me! I gave him a big thumb-up!

Enough of MFM...

Chinese New Year is just around the corner, as a matter of fact, nearing the front door liaw...but seems like this year we will have to celebrate on a moderate scale since lent will start immediately after the 1st day of CNY. Woman of the house is so thrilled as brother bear is coming back for CNY...Boy, we miss Tristan!

Till the next time I write, Have a blessed and prosperous Chinese New Year! Gong Hee Fatt Choy

Side note: I despise people who is so Phatt and will just simply say anything anyhow just to piss people off, and mind you, it is a HE...Message to He: Get a life, I wouldn't mistaken you for a deaf and dumb man even if you din open your mouth and talk ok??? No wonder you are still a bachelor at this age!

Ok, I am happy!

p/s Oh yes....I have just straighten my hair (yes, again and after many many thoughts of either to straighten or perm) and...........................I did my first hair coloring, or highlight rather!!

Curiousity kills the Cat

I don't know how curious you were when you were young or even now...or how much inconvenience or disaster you have caused by being a curious cat...

I must admit i was and still a very curious person....I can let my curiousity overule me to the extent of "just do it" kinda thinking...So, tonite, in this post, I shall revealed how much damage curiousity has caused me...this is exclusive news and you don't get it elsewhere except from here.....hehehe (but I bet somehow or rather, one of you would have done what I have done!!!)

Arcopal tea set
Those who are passed 30 years old of age would know that once upon a time, the arcopal tea set was so popular and they boasted about their non-breaking glassware...Mum bought a set (1 teapot and 6 saucers and cups) after she received a bonus (I think!!) and I was 'challenged' to prove that the products really are unbreakable....To cut a long story short, I did what I should not have done....I threw the teapot on the floor confidently thinking that it will not break...the rest is history....My dad had to buy another set for mum as compensation....

Fire Extinguisher
How many of you has ever try a fire extinguisher as kids?? Like see what came out from a H2O fire extinguisher?? C'mon, don't be shy...I'm sure you do have that kind of thought...Well, I did...I was in the church waiting for my parents and since I have nothing to do, I walked around the church and somehow or rather this red slim round cylinder caught my attention....Yupe, I pressed on the nozzle (Can't blame me entirely also lah...siapa tahu the lock has been removed) and gosh...you should see how much foam it caused...hahahaha

Gosh.....so embarrasing...Mum was reprimanded by the caretaker the next day!!! hahahaha

I thought I can write more but up to here, my face is so hot from embarrassment I don't think I should continue....hahahahaha

My latest curious thought (I am trying very hard not to do it and I seriously hope no one will provoke me to do it) - I am so tempted to press the bell/emergency button in the lifts.....there, you have it....

What about you? Did your curiousity ever land you in hot mushroom soups??
