What is the weight of S-O-R-R-Y

I did the most unethical, unpopular, uneducated and uncalled thing just now.....Since this evening, I kept on receiving a call from one unidentified number and the first few calls were very noisy and unclear. I was so much annoyed and agitated after the 3rd call that by the 4th time it rang, I picked up and shouted at the caller (and the 4th call was the clearest)

To add more salt to the wound, he asked me as to why I have to shout without first identifying himself (and of which he never did) and then start asking who I am and said my number appeared in his phone...I was furious then that i answered back as to why he wants to know and he got pissed off and vice versa and we ended the call, both angry and parted with rude words.

After a good thought, the angel in me told me that I was at fault at the first place for shouting at him....I would have got angry too if I were him....being shouted at for no apparent reason....he might have a very bad coverage thus the noisy background.....seriously not his fault...

And I did the thing I never did before... I sms-ed him and apologise for shouting and claimed that I really did not call his number....and closing my eyes, I clicked the send button...

2 mins later, my phone beeped indicating a new message....I was like prepared to see a whole message full of vulgarities and swearing and cursing....Instead, I got his reply accepting my apology and he apologised as well!!! Oh well, see how much the 5 letter word helped!

At least I can sleep peacefully tonite knowing I have clear my conscience....he might still be cursing behind my back but at least I know I have done the right thing....

hahaha...so funny

For those of you who has been following my blog from the beginning would somehow know what I am going to talk about here. This is meant for yesterday but I was busy entertaining guests and going to church for the solemnity of the feast of assumption of Mother Mary

Nevertheless, time flies and without knowing, it has been 2 years since I was involved in that terrible accident that caused a bit big dent in my heart as well as my car. To say I have completely overcame this incident is an underjudgement cos everytime i drive pass that part of the road, I am still feeling a bit queasy. And to make matter worst, the council hasn't repair the railing! The dented rail is still there and it seems more dentier (??)

Apart from this, thanks to this accident, I have become extra cautious of cars coming my opposite direction and it always gives me a bit of a shake whenever i see cars driving extra fast from the other opposite lane.

What's becoming of the other car, I sometime wonder.....The boy is definitely still driving (the same car somemore) cos I saw him once on the road.....A and I were travelling down the city and i tot the plate number of the grey Gen-2 driving next to me was somehow familiar...Only when I asked A that he told me it was that car..He was hoping that I have forgotten about that car and thus not telling me!

anyways, life still go on and I love my car no less....

I took a day's off yesterday and were avoiding all Gen-2s on the road the whole day!!!

Henceforth, I shall declare 15 August "Avoiding Gen-2 day"....anyone of u driving Gen-2???

Death

Received the news that my secretary's mother passed away last night after just about 3 weeks of being diagnosed with liver cancer.

This few days have made me wonder what life is all about. Have been following up with her for the past 3 weeks when they just found out that their mum was diagnosed with cancer and how they can never find the right time and the courage to tell their mother about this. She never have the chance to know anyway when she breathed her last last nite.

Life is so unpredictable. Never in her children's wildest dream that their mother would go before their father who has been bedridden and nursed in a local nursing home for the past 1 year. I remembered last year when her father's condition was critical, they even made all the neccessary arrangements for his burial and all that......Life.....quoting Forrest Gump " Life is like a box of chocolate, you will never know what you will be getting inside"

Sigh........

I am going to the funeral parlour tomorrow for the paying of last respect....On this, i was asked a question: "eh, can u go to a buddhist funeral parlour ah since you are a christian?"

There is no place a Christian should not go.

On another death news, we have just lost a very elderly and committed priest (Fr Joachim Pang) on 13 July 2007. His funeral was yesterday and the church was filled to the brim. So, who say you will have no one to send you off if you die a single person??

A follow-up to the *#&^$ service people

Allow me to do a follow-up of my entry on the *&#$#^ service people. I just found it so funny and hilarious this time...

Ok, shortly after that stupid man calling me rubbish hang up the phone, 2 of his colleagues came to see me and pass me the questionaires (it's a 24-page form all in BM with a tiny puny translation to english at the bottom) to be forwarded to several selected residents to complete and return to them. They came on a Wed and demand to have the forms back by Thursday....Is this stupid or not??? Anyway, I told them I am going to give the residents until the following Monday to return. They agreed and left. Note: I wanted to LOL when they handed me the list of selected residents. All the selected ones are expat...that's not the end, people

Thurs, Friday & Monday - without fail, they called and asked for the forms...my staff called the residents to follow-up and apparantely all the residents have difficulty in completing the forms (obviously) and requested the officers to visit them for explanation.

I called the lady and told her that the residents have given consent for them to interview and boy, was she thrilled...Since I was cheeky that day, before I put down the phone, I said" Oh another thing, they don't understand BM at all and you need to talk to them in English." At that moment, her tone changed and she said not even one word? I said no and she reluctantly say ok, I'll try and get someone who can converse in English to call them.

This morning....she called me again...This is just too fun I have to turn into a dialogue mode:
Lady: Ms papercrazy, can we take back all the forms from you?
Me: I don't have the forms. They are with the respective residents and you can get it back when you go and talk to them
Lady: Oh, it's ok now...We decided not to go anymore cos our project has ended. So, we don't need your residents' feedbacks anymore

Readers, the deadline of the project is 31 JULY 2007

Me: Oh izzit? So, you didn't call them at all?
Lady: No need....We have completed our survey.

and the rest of the uneventful conversations goes on

2 things I have gathered from this:
1) The project has not bladdy ended...They are just freaking terrified to call the residents cos they flunk deep down in their English. Am just wondering how the non-english speaking people can actually get themselves a place in the Gov't departments?? I am really puzzled....
2) The guy who called my report Rubbish should be pardoned cos obviously he don't understand what Rubbish means!! He must have learnt that word from watching Disney Channel or Discovery and said "Hmm...that's nice word to use..I'm going to use it and make myself so cleber"

Wisma Saberkas - the many reasons to go there

Wisma Saberkas has never been a popular shoppping haven for tourists but you'll be suprised how much it can attracts locals like me....

It has always been one of my favourite Saturday lunch hangout merely because I can do lots just over 2-3 hours there...and the free parking is a bonus too (though it's always full and you have to drive round and round and round the complex until you reach the toppest floor before you can find one....

This is what I've done over the weekend just at one shopping complex:
1) Lunch @HongKong Noodle House - This has always been A's favourite eatery and their recent implementation of member's dicsount card give him more reason to eat there...The noodles are great and so it the roasted duck...For those who is not from Kuching, this is similar to the roasted duck/chicken restaurant at the corner of Sg Wang Plaza.

2) Handphone Browsing - Saberkas is one place where you can actually go from Level 1 all the way to the top level and and at every level, you will find at least 1 shop selling handphones. Stopped over my regular shop to buy my handsfree and I fell in love with one Nokia brand...Need to find reason to change my old Nokia 6670...

3) Impulsive Specs purchase - Stopped over my regular optician (there is only one there) and did a very ad-hoc decision in making a pair of specs....Got myself a frameless specs..yay!

4) Paying a courtesy visit to my one and only crafts supplier in Kuching, Techno Graphic - I can never go in and come out empty handed, so normally if I have nothing in mind, I'd rather not go inside cos I'll end up buying all the papers and materials that I have already had at home...

5) DVDs shopping - Your visit to Saberkas will not be complete if you did not pay a visit to the local pirated dvd store....I was there looking for a Keith Urban's CD for my dad (and yes, they pronounced it right!)

6) and finally, off to the supermarket at the lower ground floor..

7) Oh yes, don't forget my main purpose for my visit last Saturday, took a photo of the building.

So, imagine how many things one can do at Wisma Saberkas....

Apart from what I have listed, Wisma Saberkas is also a good place to shop for computers and its peripherals as well as salons....

There are more salons then the rubbish bins at Wisma Saberkas, ranging from the highly sophisticated hairdressers to just an apek at the lower basement corner shoplot..Prices ranges from RM20 to RM5 per haircut...

There you have it...Now you know why i like Wisma Saberkas so much....

07.07.07

What a nice date....I know that's tomorrow but the kiasuness got the better of me and decided to post it before anyone did.

What does 7 July 2007 symbolise apart from the triple 7s? For one, I know it's somebody's 7th wedding anniversary :-)

Another memorable event would be the birthday of papercrazy! Yupe, papercrazy is going to be 2 years old at the stroke of midnight tonite....I don't have to repeat what was mentioned in papercrazy's 1st birthday write-up about how I was inspired to start this blog and have been writing ever since......

Happy Birthday dear old papercrazy!

July seems to be a very good month for lots of occasions.....Many tied knots in July and apparantely this good month does not apply to just humans....A neighbour across the road just brought in a bitch female dog and the majority of the male dogs in our neighbourhood have been very busy attracting her and showing her who is the man......The howling and barking will continue till midnight and I have to use extra pillows to have my ears covered...however, it has been pretty quiet the last few nights and I was told later that the the female dog has finally gave her paws in marriage to one of my neighbour's dog...

July will also be a busy month for me merely because I shall be attending several trainings towards the 2nd half of the month and I just heard over CNN that my aunty and the whole entourage will be visiting Kuching early August....An ad-hoc hospitality committee has been formed and the 1st meeting has just been conducted a week ago....and guess what, I might not be around the time they arrive!! Seriously, this is mere coincidence and it is definitely not doen on purpose...I am such a hospitable person to avoid them in such a cheap way! Anways, they will be here for 2 weeks and I'll sure get to meet them when I come back

Oh yes, my parents will be celebrating their wedding anniversary in July as well. Not sure what they have in mind this year....we shall see later, shall we?

Have a good weekend people!

&#^@*$#^#* Service People

Reading Winn's bad encounter with this #%$*^#@ MAXIS people, reminds me of the numerous past bad experiences with similar front liners but tot nothing of it until today....After slamming down the phone, I promised myself I MUST POST this up otherwise I am not doing justice to myself

Anyway, it all started 2 weeks ago when a team of government surveying department (I shall not elaborate on the exact department lah hor?) paid ua a visit and asked for personal informations of our residents..Of course, I can't just reveal everything unless prior approval is obtained from the parties concerned....but promised to give them just the general information....and this morning, one stupid man from the department (not one of the visiting team) called and again demanded for the personal informations and again I gave them the same reason...He commented about how difficult I am in between his broken english...all that I took it ok until 1 word that he used. He said "Do you know that what you have given me earlier is just rubbish and it's no use to us???" RUBBISH!!! Bladdy hell!!! Called my report RUBBISH???? I lost my coolness and I demanded for an apology citing that he has no right to say that word and he should take back what he has just said....he stammered a bit and then he said sorry! WTF

Since I am so furious now, I might as well share some more incidents just to put all these customer service people to shame....

EXPERIENCE 1
I received a call from one of the bank's telemarketeer promoting their insurance for ladies....since he sounded so polite, I allowed him to explain knowing very well I will not want to take up....(don't want to cut him off mah since he sounded so enthusiatic)...after his blah blah blah..

he (with a much enthusiastic voice): So Madam papercrazy, can I send you the premium today?
Me: Hold on, thank you very much for your explanation but I don't think i would like to take up this policy
he (still with his enthusiastic voice); Why Madam papercrazy, this is such a good offer and for only RMxx a month, you are enjoying such wide coverage blah blah....
Me: I know it's a very good offer but I don't think I would like to take up....I have several policies already
he (losing his coolness liaw): Can I know the reason Madam papercrazy?
Me: i thought I have told you my reason.....I have other policies, furthermore, I received such offers from other banks too...
he (showing his true colors liaw): Madam Papercrazy, You are not obliged to take up this policies from other banks you know??
(at this stage, I think he is confused liaw)
Me: Yes, I know, I am not obliged....that's the reason why I am turning down your offer...
HE SLAMMED THE PHONE DOWN ON ME
I was so furious i hated myself for not been able to catch his name earlier... From that day onwards, I told myself not to entertain these telemarketeers

EXPERIENCE 2
I was searching for a Keith Urban's disc at our local music store (legal one hah) and a native shop assistant came up to me and asked what disc I was searching for

lady (with the you-owe-me-million look): Yes?
Me: I am looking for Keith Urban's CD
lady: hah?
Me: Keith Urban (pronounced slowly just in case she din get it earlier)
lady (with a much disgusted look): tidak ada

I said it's ok and continue browsing....True enough, I found Keith and I told her

Me: eh, ini bukan ah?
lady: Ohhhhhhhhhh.....ini Kit Oo-ban....
Me (about to pengsan): Bukan, this is pronounced as Keith Urban
lady (raising her voice): no, no, Kit Kit Oo-ban
Me: KEITH URBAN.......never mind, Kit pun Kit lah...suka hati kamu...

I paid and walked off leaving her with the (*$^$*&# face

A funny dream I had last nite

Just remembered I should post up this weird dream I had last nite..Just told lokter over at the other line about my dream and she ask me to KFC (Kuching Fucking Cars).....why? I dunno...lol

I dreamt that there was a great flood and my house was in the verge of being submerged in water....the water rose so rapidly. When I opened up my front door, what was supposed to be my car porch and an open land across my house were all covered with water.... exactly like this photo

Come night, the whole house was in water and we have to keep the doors and windows closed so as not to let the water seap in....in my dream, there was myself & A, my dad and a church uncle S....Uncle S suggested that we open the window at the 1st floor and climb up to the roof to ask for help but before we managed to do that, we noticed that the house has been submerged deeper and there is no way we can go out...the tense was so real I can actually sensed the fear even when I was sleeping..I bade goodbye to Uncle S and A....I gave my dad a kiss (which I have never done before all my life...the closest I get was just a hug) and told him how much I love him and thank him for the many years of caring and love....he hugged me back and we cried.....and after that, I am gone.....I wonder why I was the only one dying but not the rest......

this is not the first time I had this kind of dream yunno....Have been having dreams about flood and water and all that....Perhaps I read too much about the flood in KL eh??

Things U observed onboard

I had the opportunity last week to noticed how funny some passengers are when they are onboard. When the stewardess started to serve meals, I wonder how many of the passengers actually heard or understood what meals option they were given....There is this flight stewardess who mentioned like " good evening sir/mdm, we are serving chicken with mumble muble mumble and rice or fish with mumble mumble and rice." and the answer from most of the passengers? Fish or chicken....no one actually knows how was it cooked.....

Then come the beverage part, no one would actually asked for either tea or coffee.....instead they would ask for Juice without even knowing what juice is served....there was this chinese guy sitting behind me who kept on kicking my chair until I have to look back and gave him a very unpleasant look.....anyways, after the meal trays were taken away, he called for the stewardess to ask for juice....the polite lady poured him a glass of orange juice and he said " No, no, no, I want the earlier one...the pink colour one.....goodness gracious, that's pink guava lah....what pink coloured juice....from there, I gather he doesn't know what he was asking for....

Then there is this nice looking dressed lady in front of me....Called for the stewardess (not easy being a stewardess eh) and asked for some chocolates from the meal trays!!! gosh!

Since I am on flight stories, I remembered long time ago we were on a domestic flight to Sibu (for those who are familiar with sarawak domestic flights, you don't get to be served meals, just juice, not even tea or coffee) there was this apek looking uncle who actually demanded for milk!! and when the stewardess said there is no milk, he sulked and then asked for sweets.....so the stewardess brought out a basket full of sweets, perhaps with the intention to distribute to all passengers.....know what that apek looking uncle did??? He grabbed the sweets from the basket, at least 3 or 4 times continuously and put them inside his bag...there! That's not the end, my friends.....after this, he proceeded in asking for a souvenir (What is it with the MAS envelopes and letterheads)......

Weird people around!!!

Enough of that, I was in KL for a short training last week.....Yeah, I know, I know, I should have informed you guys and gals in KL about my visit but I was so occupied with the trainings and wat not....

Not much photos to post except on food.....
Shid....siti(u)pid blogger can't upload my photos.......sorry guys, no pixs but of course I am sure you all can figure roughly what I ate lah...Burger King Swiss Mushroom is definitely a must lah...

Series of unfortunate incidents

I came across several unfortunate incidents over the past weeks which has really dampened my already dampened spirit...

I have just been told about a wife been unfaithful to her husband after her husband was diagnosed with cancer last year. It really break my heart when he told me this. All this while, I know that he has been a very nice (too nice at times) to his 10-years-younger-than-him wife...I remembered very well the day he was admitted to hospital for his operation and chemo, he actually told the doctor to admit him only after 5pm so that he can send his wife back home first....sigh

Then, over the weekend, a pregnant friend told me that her 4-week old foetus might not survive as doctor is suspecting an internal miscarriage. I admire her strength and trust in God that whatever is not hers will not be hers....Anyway, let's pray for her, shall we?

A friend's son was admitted to hospital due to dengue....His condition turned worst and blood transfusion is the only option....however, the mother being a very very spiritual mum, prayed over it and the son's condition improved overnight and heard was discharged a day after...I really thanked God for this cos this friend of mine had just lost her son in an accident few years back and sure it's gonna be a big blow on her if her son did not pull through

Then, one of our member (past president too) passed away yesterday morning due to cancer. Went to the funeral parlour for prayers and she looked so calm and peaceful....

On a less depressing but still very unfortunate incident, I received my rubber stamps last Friday after 2 months of waiting and noticed that there were duplication on 2 of the 5 stamps.....Have to send them back again for a replacement.....The supplier promised to send back the replacement by today...let's see...

Sounded so depressing is it not???? Ok, so if would excuse me, I need to find a corner and ponder over all the above......

Signing out....

Story - Ronny's Night

This is an email I received through my mailbox today and I cannot help but feeling sad over what I read. Not sure whether this is a true story or not but nevertheless, it inspires me lots and teach me not to underestimates other people's capabilities....

Robby's Night - True Story --
At the prodding of my friends, I am writing this story. My name is MildredHondorf. I am a former elementary school music teacher from Des Moines,Iowa. I've always supplemented my income by teaching piano lessons- something I've done for over 30 years.

Over the years I found that children have many levels of musical ability.I've never had the pleasure of having a prodigy though I have taught sometalented students.

However I've also had my share of what I call "musically challenged"pupils. One such student was Robby. Robby was 11 years old when his mother (a single Mom) dropped him off for his first piano lesson. I prefer that students (especially boys!) begin at an earlier age, which I explained to Robby.

But Robby said that it had always been his mother's dream to hear him play the piano. So I took him as a student. Well, Robby began with his piano lessons and from the beginning I thought it was a hopeless endeavour. As much as Robby tried, he lacked the sense of tone and basic rhythm needed to excel. But he dutifully reviewed his scales and some elementary pieces that I require all my students to learn.

Over the months he tried and tried while I listened and cringed and triedto encourage him. At the end of each weekly lesson he'd always say, "My mom's going to hear me play someday." But it seemed hopeless He just didnot have any inborn ability. I only knew his mother from a distance as she dropped Robby off or waited in her aged car to pick him up. She always waved and smiled but never stopped in.

Then one day Robby stopped coming to our lessons.

I thought about calling him but assumed because of his lack of ability, that he had decided to pursue something else. I also was glad that hestopped coming He was a bad advertisement for my teaching!

Several weeks later I mailed to the student's homes a flyer on the upcoming recital. To my surprise Robby (who received a flyer) asked me if he could be in the recital. I told him that the recital was for current pupils and because he had dropped out he really did not qualify. He said that his mother had been sick and unable to take him to piano lessons but he was still practising. "Miss Hondorf I've just got to play!" he insisted.

I don't know what led me to allow him to play in the recital. Maybe it was his persistence or maybe it was something inside of me saying that it would be all right. The night for the recital came. The high school gymnasium was packed with parents, friends and relatives. I put Robby up last in the programme before I was to come up and thank all the students and play a finishing piece. I thought that any damage he would do would come at the end of the program and I could always salvage his poor performance through my "curtain closer.
"
Well, the recital went off without a hitch. The students had beenpractising and it showed. Then Robby came up on stage. His clothes werewrinkled and his hair looked like he'd run an eggbeater through it. "Whydidn't he dress up like the other students?" I thought. "Why didn't hismother at least make him comb his hair for this special night?"

Robby pulled out the piano bench and he began. I was surprised when he announced that he had chosen Mozart's Concerto #21 in C Major. I was not prepared for what I heard next. His fingers were light on the keys, theyeven danced nimbly on the ivories. He went from pianissimo to fortissimo. From allegro to virtuoso. His suspended chords that Mozart demands were magnificent! Never had I heard Mozart played so well by people his age. After six and a half minutes he ended in a grand crescendo and everyone was on their feet in wild applause.

Overcome and in tears I ran up on stage and put my arms around Robby injoy. "I've never heard you play like that Robby! How'd you do it? " Through the microphone Robby explained: "Well Miss Hondorf . .. remember I told you my Mom was sick? Well, actually she had cancer and passed away this morning. And well, she was born deaf so tonight was the first time she ever heard me play. I wanted to make it special."

There wasn't a dry eye in the house that evening. As the people from Social Services led Robby from the stage to be placed into foster care, noticed that even their eyes were red and puffy and I thought to myself how much richer my life had been for taking Robby as my pupil.

No, I've never had a prodigy but that night I became a prodigy. . . of Robby's. He was the teacher and I was the pupil. For it is he that taught me the meaning of perseverance and love and believing in yourself and maybe even taking a chance in someone and you don't know why.

Robby was killed in the senseless bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City in April of 1995.........

Hope it inspires you too.......

apologies people for the lack in posting the past weeks....There were lots of happenings but I just couldn't find the time to blog about it. I'll try to summarise everything under one post ok, also, apologies cos there will be no photos! :-) Just long and boring and monotonous post, so if you are bored and am thinking of looking for excitement, sorry and see you next time!

backdated 13 May 2007
Mother's Day...we sisters decided to suprised her with a bouquet delivery on sunday morning. Called dad the nite before to make sure that she doesn't go out on sunday morning...Thanks to Dad, not only he successfully stopped mum from going out, he managed to stop her from claiming the bouquet from the delivery people too! dads!

The same nite, went to Elephant for dinner...mum ordered the salmon of which she was pleased...I was not....I ordered the chicken ala-kiev without reading the fine prints on the menu and it came in the form of breast meat (note: I hate breast meat of any sort and any creatures)

backdated 15 May 2007
Pa-in-law's grand birthday dinner....Addy and I were the main organisers for the whole event and have been having sleepless nites since we started with the invites and cards and deliveries....We are proud to announced that everyone was impressed with the arrangements, from invitation cards (i did them of course) to the menu ordering to the restaurant to the cake and everything else....Pa-in-law was so happy and that was the first time I actually saw him chatty....

Food was really really good and the restaurant's helpers were extremely helpful....Thanks to John, the Captain!

The next day, ma-in-law received numerous calls from friends and relatives praising us for a work well done! Phew....

Backdated 17 May 2007
Being Feast of Ascension of our Lord....Decided to be bold and wake up early (for once, without the help of A who was and is still on travelling) to attend the 7.30am mass, which is suppose to be the students mass for St Joe and St Teresa's students....How should I put it?? It brought me down memory lane, I suppose.....reminding me of my school days where most girls are plump pimples-not-free and the boys...ermm.....with their natural body deodoriser....:-)

Today
i had a very very sumptuos meal at the Press Conference....We had Japanese bento set each with tempura and mixed maki sets as side...Sorry, no photos though I was so tempted...Boss sitting next to me....At one stage, a reported wanted to take a picture of us eating but boss said wait....sigh....or else I could have asked the reported to send me the photos... hehehe

One funny reporter actually refused to go back after the luncheon....He came in late and did not really finish his food so he 'demand' that we accompany him to finish them claiming that he can't stand to see so much wastage...I swear i saw him taking several pieces of raw octopus and salmon from a leftover bento set next to his!!!

Have been so busy for the past few days......Big boss going away for weeks meaning we have to get everything ready for him to sign before end of this week (which is today)....Have not been having good nite sleep over the past nites.....terrible headache since 15 May and my left eye has been twitching non stop since 2 days ago....Dunno what's the cause but i definitely wouldn't mind more twitching if I am getting some cash soon...:-)

have a great weekend people!

Happy Labour's Day

It's gonna be a long holiday (2 days are considered long for me lah...) but I guess a certain individual is enjoying an even longer holidays.....

Why are we celebrating Labour Day? Switzerland is not....Why is it called Labour Day?? Is labour day similar to labour pain?? hehehe...I know, I know, I'm talking crap here..

I'm full of craps of late....so let's talk crap..

Everyone is either on or going on a holiday....lokter is now enjoying herself in an almost-everyday raining city and she's enjoying herself eating tons and tons of oysters...made me jealous

People has been talking about KK and are trying to make me sulk and cry for being the only one who has never been to KK.....I'm so travel deprived and I am sad.....

Back to Labour Day holiday...I am going to be locked up in a room full of funny people for the AGM...and I seriously hope I will not be elected as the Secretary....I don't think I can take on another important profile, not with my present work committment....The only thing I am looking forward to would be the lunch..:-)

can't think of anymore craps...guess that's all.

Happy holiday people

Food

A long outdated post and I think the other side has posted them up long before...

Last Friday, we whom should not be revealed took half a day off for an important mission, ie food binge......

We started out tour by visiting Mr Ho's......Am happy with my choice of food and drink..I had this

Mr Ho's Laksa RM15.90 - he uses pasta instead of beehoon or the yellow noodles......Ingredients were fabulous and it includes his signature dish, the crispy pork and char siew......Yummy though a bit spicy...

I noticed a drink called Bundaberg Sarsaparilla..Sound so liquor-like to me but my adventurous side get the better of me and I ordered it....and I like it a lot......taste a bit like rootbeer and it's not that sweet....nice and it's only RM5....A bottle of Bundaberg can fill up 2.5 glass....worth it is it not??? At least much much worth it as compared to somebody's duhhh Ribena Sprite!

We rested for awhile after lunch and then hop on to the newly opened Secret Recipe.....

Since we are still full and since most of the food is still not available, we settled for these...
Somebody's Oreo blah blah blah drink

And my caffe mocha..... (stoopid blogspot....cannot download.....guess u have to use your imagination nia lor) No diff from the oreo blah blah blah except mine came with froth....

We ordered 2 slices of cake...(Managed to post only 1 cos blogspot photo uploader failed on me after that)

Can't remember what cakes were that cos they kept on coming back to us after each order and said they ran out of the cakes and it continued until the 4th time....Bad publicity is it not??

Overall, I am very dissapointed with my favourite Secret Recipe...To start of, they haven't got my cordon bleu.....Service is lousy though the staff tried their very best to stay friendly...Several people actually went in, sat down, checked the menu and left....

Leggy went the same evening and got away with free meals.....No, No, before you all start to rush down to SR thinking there is a free food promo, hold your horses.....Apparantely the food that she ordered was not cooked properly and was still frozen in the inside....so there you have it....

Food business is never easy.......And the most important lesson here - if you are still shorthanded, DO NOT open for business as yet...First impression counts!

Being a hot and humid saturday evening, A and I decided to check out the snow ice place near our house where the 2 lil girls have visited....

Interior is nice though a bit noisy with mandarin speaking girls and boys obviously were having a birthday party for their friend....I ordered the green tea snow ice and A, as usual, his coffee snow ice.....Very very cooling and cheap, I must say!

Look so like cabbage is it not????

Lousy week

This has not been a good week, to me that is....

Never ending auditors' final queries before the presentation meeting, problems at the site that is not even within my jurisdiction and yet it fell on my lap, constant losing at Bookworm and several bad dreams that I had...Don't come near me at the moment cos I might transfer some of my misfortunes to you...

Among all the dreams that I had, the most scary one was about me losing my car....It was so real and I woke up with cold sweat! For those who doesn't really know about me, I will freak out over just any tiny weeny things about my car....and of course, the freak incident few years back doesn't help in solving this problem.....nevetheless, I dreamt I drove my car to my parents' house and park right next to A's car...Dad heard a loud noise outside and being Dad, he went out to check and came in telling me that my car was missing.....I ran out and search frantically for my car but to no avail and I recalled me sitting on the curb right outside the main gate and cried!! Hah! Let's think positive...like I've told lokter, maybe it's time for me to buy 4D....:-)

When your mood is down, everything seems to go on strike on you too....To start of, we went to a buffet dinner on Monday and went home cooking Indomie Mee Goreng....We asked for a customised buffet dinner at RM20 per pax as a farewell dinner to the Philippines Priest and I tell you, the buffet doesn't even deserved a cent! Imagine, no re-fill or whatsover....Aiyoh....even cheap vege like Cangkuk Manis was not refilled....and I ended up eating the miserable spicy fried yellow noodles with bean sprouts..Yucky! That explained why the noodles was the only dish available then.....An uncle saw what happened and asked the waiter whether a re-fill is on the way..They answered yes and we waited until our plates were dried up and fruits were gone....Btw, I am never a big eater and here I am, complaining

The next day, the gang went to Bella Italia to celebrate A and my belated birthday....Food as usual, very dissapointing...Even my alfredo doesn't look the same like before and the funghi is just to pathetic....

Hardly pieces of turkey hams were spotted...

Soggy and tasteless

If there is one thing I am terrified of, it's the bees and wasps.....Few evenings ago, as I was doing my work, I suddenly noticed some flying objects right outside my window....I looked up and to my horror, there were at least thousands of bees surrounding my window....Thank goodness there is no opening outlet where the bees might enter my room or else I would have fainted there and then.....Anyway, the pix below was taken with so much courage...It still freaks me whenever I look at this pix..Call me a chicken or coward but that's me....Had bad childhood experience....

The pix doesn't really show that many right....but trust me, there were lots!

Btw, Secret Recipe is opened for business and I am definitely going.....
and I still owe somebody a tag....sori, how can I talk about the fav food in Kuching with all the bad experiences I had on food......
Have a great weekend people....I sure hope mine is
